Norwich City are searching for back-to-back Championship victories for the first time this season when they travel to newly promoted Derby County this lunchtime.

The Canaries are hoping to build on an impressive 4-1 victory over Watford last weekend against a Derby side that boast a 100pc record at Pride Park this season and hasn't conceded at home in seven matches.

Johannes Hoff Thorup will now be striving for consistency as City travel to Derbyshire this afternoon.

The Canaries will be without injured duo Liam Gibbs and Onel Hernandez, who Thorup ruled out until December with hamstring injuries suffered last week. City have been boosted by the return of Anis Ben Slimane - who is fit enough to feature this afternoon.

Norwich remain without trio Ashley Barnes, Christian Fassnacht and Jacob Sorensen whilst Tony Springett is also sidelined.

Despite a positive home record, Norwich will be hoping to show improvement on their travels, having lost eight of their last 15 matches spanning last season. Derby haven't been beaten on their home turf since a 2-1 defeat to Charlton in February.

Paul Warne, a self confessed Norwich fan, will be determined to get one over on his boyhood club this afternoon having won one and lost four of his previous five matches in charge against the Canaries as Rotherham United boss.

This is his first meeting against Norwich in charge of the Rams, having guided them to promotion from League One last season. They have enjoyed a mixed start to life back in the Championship with three wins and as many defeats.

Nobody in the division has scored more goals from set pieces than Warne's side whilst City will hope to continue their improvement this afternoon.
