Norwich City face a Premier League test as they head to Crystal Palace in the second round of the Carabao Cup tonight.

The Canaries will be hoping to continue an upward trend of performance levels against Oliver Glasner's Eagles in South London tonight, even amid plenty of changes from Johannes Hoff Thorup.

City booked their place in the second round of the competition courtesy of an entertaining 4-3 victory over League One side Stevenage at Carrow Road earlier this month. Palace are part of a clutch of non-European participating top-flight teams to join the competition at this stage.

Thorup has confirmed he will use the opportunity to rotate his squad and hand minutes to those players in need of further exposure to game time and offer those on the fringes a chance to impress.

New additions Ante Crnac and Oscar Schwartau, who both joined the club last week, are expected to be handed minutes. Jose Cordoba, yet to make a competitive start for the Canaries, could also feature in defence.

City will without injured trio Ashley Barnes, Jacob Sorensen and Christian Fassnacht.

Palace are hoping to return to winning ways after a slow start to the Premier League campaign. The Eagles have begun their top-flight campaign with back-to-back defeats against Brentford and West Ham respectively.

City haven't recorded a victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park this century, last winning in a 1-0 victory back in 1996. The last three visits to Croydon have ended with an aggregate score of 6-0 to the hosts.

The sides have never met in the League Cup, last meeting outside the league in the Zenith Data Systems Cup in 1991 - Palace were 2-1 victors in a replay after an initial 1-1 draw.
