Elliot Myles netted a brace as ten-man Norwich City U21s kickstarted their season with a rampant 6-1 victory over West Brom at Colney.

The Canaries named a strong starting XI with the likes of Jaden Warner, Ken Aboh, Finley Welch and Myles all included in Alan Neilson's squad to begin their Premier League Two campaign.

It was Aboh who opened the scoring inside 30 seconds after Dan Ogwuru's burst forward resulted in his effort being saved by Baggies keeper Ben Cisse, only for the young City striker to convert the rebound.

City did have to deal with adversity, however. Adian Manning was shown a straight red card was swiftly followed by Cole Deeming converting a free kick into the left-hand corner to restore parity.

Norwich found their groove thereafter with Myles' first goal of the evening. He was played through in the box before taking a moment to compose himself prior to picking his spot to restore City's lead on 42 minutes.

Myles was on target again soon after, when Aboh drove into the box before unselfishly picking out the Welsh youth international to extend their lead to 3-1 on the stroke of half time.

Dan Barden was called upon early into the second half to deny Kevin Mfuamba before Warner saw a header from a corner denied by Cisse.

City had their fourth of the evening soon after. Aboh's direct pass picked out Ogwuru perfectly to allow the ex-Manchester City youngster to add his name to the scoresheet with a sublime finish into the top left corner on 56 minutes.

Aboh was at the centre of City's play for their fifth goal of the evening, exchanging passes neatly with Welch before picking out the midfielder with a sumptuous cross, allowing the 19-year-old to sweep the ball into the net.

West Brom forward Eseosa Sule had a chance to reduce the deficit from the spot soon after, but blazed his spot kick over the bar to continue a night to forget for the visiting side.

The impressive Aboh rounded off an impressive night by recording his fourth assist of the evening as City made it 6-1. The teenager created an opportunity for Errol Mundle-Smith, who chipped the keeper to cap off a wonderful night for the Canaries youngsters.

City's squad is expected to look radically different with several players poised for both permanent and loan exits in the coming weeks.
