Norwich City v Watford: Championship Preview Show video

Johannes Hoff Thorup's side will hope to add to the five points they've amassed thus far, but face stiff competition from the Hornets, who are currently fifth in the division and in good form.

City correspondents Adam Harvey and Samuel Seaman sat down to look ahead to the game in the latest edition of the Pink Un Preview Show, discussing a range of topics including Borja Sainz's form, the visitors' strengths and Narcis Pelach's departure for Stoke.

AH: What are you expecting from the team news when it drops, Sam? Could we see Ante Crnac come back into the line-up?

SS: I could see that. I thought it was a fairly decent, 7/10 cameo against Swansea, and it definitely is a position where you still feel he could be the first in line. There's definitely a shirt up for grabs there, and he does look like a natural option out wide, someone who can have an impact cutting in on his left foot.

But it hasn't worked out for him yet, and Kaide Gordon is in that mix, there's talk about Onel Hernandez as well. He has got a lot of competition, and they won't make it easy for him.

AH: Watford have had a pretty positive start to the campaign. They've dipped a little bit in recent games, but prior to that they've beaten Stoke quite convincingly, beaten Derby and Millwall and done well in the Carabao Cup.

There's a feeling of stability around the club now, with Tom Cleverley brought in as head coach. The fans are buying into that, and it's been less of a circus at Watford in terms of the managerial merry-go-round. So it seems that there's slightly more positivity in the Hornets camp.

What have you made of their start to the season, Sam?

Watford have started the season well (Image: PA) SS: I'm actually a little bit surprised. You looked at them pre-season and wondered whether they could be one of these teams that people don't really think about, and actually they struggle and find themselves in trouble. But it's gone in completely the opposite way.

Not only has it been convincing in terms of results, it's also been convincing in terms of performances. It does show you that in different environments small tweaks do work, and small changes can make a big difference. It looks like that's what's happened at Watford.

But there are a lot of teams who kick on at the start of the season and look really good, I think Reading did it one season and then ended up getting relegated. The Championship is a good one for soaring at the start and then losing that momentum.

But the signs look pretty good for Watford so far, and some of their strengths are ones that will test Norwich significantly. They've got pace going in behind, they've got strength in the midfield, they're a bit more of a physical side who will be able to test some of the home side's weaknesses.

AH: It's got to that point where I'm going to ask you for a score prediction. How do you see this game going?

SS: I'm not feeling overly optimistic for Norwich going into it, with the Narcis Pelach element, how good Watford have looked, some of the concerns that there were from the Swansea. It's not all doom and gloom, but I just think Watford might have a bit too much for them.

So I'm going to say 2-1 to Watford, but the good news is that I said 2-1 to Norwich against Swansea. So hopefully my predictions are just terrible this season, and that's a sign that Norwich might win!

What about you, Adam?

AH: I'm going for an absolute goal fest that Norwich win 3-2. There are always goals between these two: the 4-2 last year, the 3-2 when Norwich crumbled at Vicarage Road, the Josh Sargent 3-0, they also beat Watford 4-2 in 2016 and 3-0 in 2014.

So there are always goals between these two, which probably means that it's going to be 0-0! But I'm going to go for a Norwich win, and the home form continuing.
